Firefox Download/Plugin Problems Fixed

I had a real problem with Firefox. I was about to uninstall my favourite browser for good. The first problem I had was that Firefox would not open at all, even safe mode. I was searching for an answer for a week or more with no luck until I tried this :-
I had Auslogics Boostspeed installed and I had stopped a few services that apparently was not needed. I rolled Boostspeed back to original settings and Firefox worked perfectly. I don’t know which service or services caused Firefox to stop, but this is a place to start if you have the same problem.
Problem 2. Firefox downloads a file then deletes it. The fix :-
Open a new firefox page,.In the address bar type “about:config”. A warning comes up, click “I’ll be careful, I promise”. Scroll down to “Browser.Download.Manager.scanWhenDone”. Doubleclick it till the value says “false”. Close firefox and “Voila”, downloads are back.
Problem 3. Unable to delete a Plugin.
Search for “pluginreg.dat” . (should be in ” c:\users\yourname\appdata\roaming\mozilla\firefox\profiles\kqk23o16.default\” ). Open with a text editor e.g.notepad. This will tell you where the plugin is installed. Just rename the folder it is in.
Always backup your files.
